Summer@Farragut is a unique four week boarding experience for students entering grades 9-12. Summer attendees will stay in the finest dorm facilities and experience great college-prep courses, along with a lifetime of memories. Weekend outings include trips to nearby world-renowned beaches, action-packed attractions, and beautiful state parks.

Dormitories

Located on a 35-acre gated waterfront campus, Farragut Hall was built as a hotel in 1925. The hotel rooms, located on the second and third floors, were converted into dorm rooms when the property was purchased by Admiral Farragut Academy.

Female and male dormitories are separated by alarmed doors at all times, and they are required to use separate staircases. Many rooms have waterfront views.

Every dorm room:

  • Air conditioning and Wireless internet access

  • Desks with chairs and lamps and Dressers

Dining Services

The school’s dining program is managed by SAGE Dining Services. Every dish is free of trans fats and made from fresh ingredients. To accommodate a diverse student population, many meals are culturally themed or prepared. Three well-balanced, hot meals are served each day.

Breakfast Meals Include:

  • Breakfast buffet of omelets, waffles, yogurt parfaits, toast, bagels, and potato
  • Eggs are scrambled or cooked to order, bacon, sausage, or ham
  • Weekly specialty items: breakfast quiche, burritos, stratas, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, and grits
  • Fresh fruits, juices, assorted pastries, and cold cereals

Lunch and Dinner Include:

  • Two entrees including a vegetarian option with a side and fresh vegetables and hot, homemade soup
  • Fresh fruits a salad bar: abundance of crisp greens, fresh vegetable toppings, specialty salad options, and hummus
  • A sandwich deli bar with an assortment of fresh breads, high quality lean lunch meats, deli salads, a selection of cheese, fresh toppings, and condiments
  • A dessert

Safety

Farragut is a gated community in a family-friendly neighborhood with 24/7 campus security. All gates arelocked after 10:30 p.m. Dormitories have alarmed doors between the male and female dorms. About 20 Residential Life Staff members live in apartments within the dormitories and monitor the dorms at all times. Additional faculty and staff live in apartments or campus housing on or directly next to campus.
