Riverside's Summer Academic Program

Learn to S.O.A.R. at Riverside! Riverside Military Academy's four week Summer Opportunity and Academic Review (S.O.A.R.) program is designed to help boys in grades 7-11 prepare for the upcoming school year and strengthen their academic skills. S.O.A.R. is open to any young man in grades 7-11 from any middle or high school including current Riverside Military Academy cadets.

Studies First…

We provide the opportunity for each student to reach his maximum potential in all academic areas by creating a positive learning environment. Young men who are eager to learn will gain valuable skills necessary to excel in college or to improve in a specific subject area. Summer cadets may choose from challenging elective courses or repeat courses as needed for credit. Class sizes are small for more individualized teacher attention and allow more active involvement in the learning process.

As a summer student, you will be encouraged to expand your learning to reach your full potential. A supervised evening study hall – with access to your teachers – provides a structured study environment. Students must attend the full four-week session to earn academic credit.

There is a US$ 250 non-refundable deposit for S.O.A.R., which will be applied toward tuition, if enrolled. Submission of the S.O.A.R. Registration Form does not constitute enrollment. S.O.A.R. applicants must submit the required academic Admissions Application PRIOR to submission of the S.O.A.R. Registration Form.

And Then the Adventure!

Because we believe there is a strong connection between physical and mental development, extra-curricular activities, field trips and activities play an important role throughout our S.O.A.R. program. Our summer recreational program takes full advantage of our world-class campus athletic facilities and our proximity to Lake Lanier and other area attractions. Summer cadets at Riverside have opportunities to learn basic marksmanship and rappelling techniques, swim in our natatorium, play basketball in our gymnasium, work on strength training in our weight room, compete with other cadets in canoe races on Lake Lanier, and much more. Field trips are also offered to attractions such as Six Flags, Lanier World Water Park at Lake Lanier Islands Resort, the Mall of Georgia, and whitewater rafting adventures.

Requirements: S.O.A.R. students are required to enroll for the complete 4-week program. Classes meet for 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon for a total of 120 contact hours. Riverside Military Academy reserves the right to cancel or change any class.
