No matter what language you speak, we’re glad that you’re interested in Lincoln Academy. Lincoln has been educating students for over 200 years and is the fourth oldest secondary school in Maine. Originally established to prepare students for Bowdoin College, Lincoln’s purpose is to help you achieve your highest goals — whatever those may be. Whether you’re from Europe or Edgecomb, Asia or Alna, you’re welcome here.

Lincoln Academy, with a proud two hundred plus year tradition of preparing students to meet the intellectual demands of full citizenship, strives continuously to provide a learning environment in which all students can achieve their highest potential. As an accredited, independent, secondary school with deep roots in the communities of Mid-Coast Maine, Lincoln Academy seeks to serve the public interest by affording not only a comprehensive academic curriculum but also a diverse blend of co-curricular opportunities. Our programs undertake to build knowledge, skills, and social values, and to promote high aspirations among all of our students.

Lincoln Academy is dedicated to creating lifelong learners who understand their complex relationship to the broader world. We make every effort to recognize and to meet the needs of students as individuals while affirming that education is a collaboration of community, family, and student. LA’s teachers are passionate about their subjects and value each individual student. Students excel in this positive environment. The LA family is inviting, caring, friendly, and diverse.

Students at LA enjoy the benefits of a safe, small town in coastal Maine but are only an hour away from the amenities and activities in Portland. The school has new science laboratories and updated classroom facilities. There is also a beautiful, modern dining commons and black box theater. A new boys’ residence hall opened in the fall of 2013, and a new girls’ dormitory will open in January 2015.
