Storm King School (USA) Student Travel Opportunities Get Back on Track
International and domestic trips are an integral part of the Storm King experience that enhance the School’s academic and community service programs while adding yet another dimension to its vibrant student life.
In the recent past, our students were given the opportunity to travel to interesting and exotic destinations in the USA and around the globe including Peru, Fiji, Cuba, the Galapagos Islands, New York City, Boston, the Adirondacks, and many others.
While continuing to monitor the public health situation closely, SKS is tentatively planning at least two exciting trips in March 2022 for the Spring Break holiday– the first to Costa Rica, and the second to the Grand Canyon.
The Costa Rica trip will feature a similar itinerary to SKS’ last excursion to that country which took place in November 2019. As students experience Costa Rica’s natural beauty and become immersed in the local culture, they will visit several cities, spend rewarding days of service helping local communities, and live the excitement of outdoor adventure.
The Grand Canyon trip will be a new and exciting destination for Storm King travelers. The tentative itinerary includes visits and tours at the Grand Canyon and other national and state parks and museums in Arizona and Utah. Highlights include a bicycle tour of the Grand Canyon, visits to the Hoover Dam and museum, the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, Valley of Fire State Park, a 4×4 sunset safari tour, and a final night in Las Vegas, Nevada, among others.
All Storm King students are encouraged to take advantage of these exciting, all-inclusive trips for the upcoming year. As the itineraries, pricing, and dates are being finalized, the School will continue to monitor health and travel conditions and keep the community informed of the next steps.

The Storm King School celebrated Earth Day recently with a blend of learning and action, honoring our planet in a meaningful way. The day began with an All School Meeting filled with activities and presentations, the first by Head of School Jonathan Lamb who shared the history of Earth Day and Storm King Mountain’s role in launching the nation’s grassroots environmental movement.

Winter Sports Begin November 21
Winter sports sign ups are now posted in the English Wing. Students can still sign up to join one of our winter sports offerings: basketball, cheer, swim, wrestling, or indoor track. As students sign up, the athletics department is checking to see that their sports permission and physical are up to date.
