Acting U.S. Surgeon General to Speak at Storm King School’s Commencement

Storm King School’s Headmaster Paul Domingue has announced that Rear Admiral (RADM) Boris D. Lushniak, Acting Surgeon General of the United States, has accepted the school’s invitation to serve as commencement speaker on June 7, 2014. “We are delighted that Dr. Lushniak will address our 2014 graduates and families,” Mr. Domingue commented. “His advocacy of public health initiatives, promoting the welfare of our nation’s youth, resonates strongly with our own school’s commitment to student well-being.”

A native of Chicago, Dr. Lushniak’s impressive medical and public health career spans more than three decades. Throughout his tenure, Dr. Lushniak has worked in various leadership capacities at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Drug Administration. He has lent his expertise in places such as Bangladesh, St. Croix, Russia, Kosovo, New York City (at Ground Zero after 9-11) and Washington D.C. following the anthrax attacks.

Dr. Lushniak holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Medical Science and Medical Degree (M.D.) from Northwestern University, a Master’s in Public Health (M.P.H.) from Harvard University, and is board certified in dermatology and preventative medicine.
