The International Study Center is a dedicated facility for international students on the University campus. Located in Roosevelt's Gage Building, a short walk along the Michigan Avenue architectural wall, the ISC offers pathways to a US university degree. The center's curricula are designed to help international students adjust to the US University system and thrive at Roosevelt University.

At the International Study Center, students receive English language support and academic courses taught by highly trained ESL and university teachers. The International Study Center also offers help with cultural adjustment and developing effective study skills, and provides the support services international students need when they study away from home.

International Study Center facilities: On the 1st and 2nd floors of Roosevelt University's Gage Building, the International Study Center has well-appointed facilities to enhance students' learning while in a pathway program with a capacity for over 100 international students.

In addition, students can use all Roosevelt University common areas in the Gage Building, including the quiet study room, computer lab, and student lounge.

Located on famous Michigan Avenue, within the "South Loop Educational Corridor" of downtown Chicago, the International Study Center is less that a 10-minute walk from all University facilities.

The 12-story Gage Building that houses the International Study Center is right across the street from Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (known for the famous "Bean" sculpture) and 2 blocks away from historic State Street. Providing easy access to public transportation, the ISC is only a 2-minute walk from the elevated train system, popularly known as the "L".

Undergraduate students (International Year One) are required to live in university residences for at least 2 years. Graduate students (Pre-Master's Program) have the option of student accommodation or living in private housing. Roosevelt University provides plentiful and modern student housing in 2 upscale residence halls, all within easy walking distance of your classes and university facilities. International Study Center students live in University residences alongside American and other international students.

International Year One

International Year One gives international students the essential building blocks needed to achieve degree success at Roosevelt University, and leads straight onto Year 2 of a bachelor's degree. This international student pathway is designed for students with upper intermediate English. No official TOEFL/IELTS score is required.

Pre-Master's Program

The Pre-Master's Program offers focused preparation for master's degrees at Roosevelt University, and provides a transitional curriculum of intensive English language and graduate-level study skills. This degree pathway program is designed as a pre-MBA, pre-MPA, pre-Marketing master's or pre-HRM master's for international students with upper intermediate English. No official TOEFL/IELTS score is required.

English For Academic Purposes

English for Academic Purposes (EAP) is for international students with intermediate English level. No official TOEFL/IELTS score is required. 

This undergraduate pre-degree pathway program provides 1 semester of intensive English language instruction. On completion, students are ready to join the 3-semester International Year One. EAP is the first semester 1 of a 4-semester study plan.

In English for Academic Purposes, international students develop the 4 key language skills of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing, in the context of degree level studies. EAP students must meet minimum English language requirements for progression to credit-bearing courses on the International Year One, or may need to repeat the semester.
