Windsor School, New York, New York State

Locations

A Private College Preparatory Middle and High School in NYC for Students in Grades 7 – 12. The Windsor School is an independent, coeducational, middle and high school, located in the vibrant community of Flushing, New York. We draw students from the local communities as well as from various foreign countries. We have a rigorous academic program and expect our students to take four years of mathematics and science in addition to social studies and English. Programs must be rounded out with electives, art or AP classes. Courses of study are updated and revised to meet the Learning Standards of New York State and the National Common Core.

Our modern facility is comfortable, quiet and conducive to learning. Small classes enhance the effectiveness of an experienced and dedicated staff. On site physical education consists of yoga, aerobics and table tennis. Our soccer team plays and practices at nearby Flushing Meadow Park. Our basketball program takes place at the Flushing Boys Club. We also use the National Tennis Center.

Under the supervision of a skilled teaching and administrative staff, our students will progress academically, socially, emotionally, and culturally. We provide a learning atmosphere where each student has the opportunity to develop his or her potential to the fullest extent according to individual talents and interests. Our experience as educators has taught us that if a student is to gain admission to the college of his or her choice, as well as succeed in that college, he or she must have a strong base of knowledge and the analytic skills to use that base.

The Windsor academic program is traditional yet current, classic yet contemporary, textbook yet smartboard. Our faculty learns and grows along with our students. All of us have become more effective teachers and students over the years. The Windsor School curriculum is comprehensive and carefully planned to meet the admission requirements for most colleges. Our courses of study are updated and revised to meet New York State as well as Common Core Standards. In addition to major sequences in English, mathematics, social studies, foreign language and science, students have the opportunity to pursue electives in areas of special interest including Advanced Placement Courses.
