Thornton Academy, Saco, Maine visa update for 2022
As students begin to enroll for the 2022-23 school year, we wanted to share a few updates regarding our own visa process, as well as news from the US State Department regarding visa processing to help our students.
Visa for Our Students
The Deptartment of Homeland Security updated their visa regulations recently to allow schools to send digital copies of the signed I-20 forms to students rather than mailing the physical/original document. Thornton Academy will be sending signed & unsigned I-20s digitally this year and will not be mailing them to students. This will ensure that students get their I-20s quickly and students will be less likely to lose them prior to arrival.
Visa Process Update
The U.S. Deptartment of State has extended the visa interview waiver for the rest of the year! This is great news for our students as they may not be required to go to the embassy for an interview to get a visa as long as they meet the conditions listed by the State Dept.
Thornton Academy tuition fee for 2021-2022 US$ 48,000 per year, includes boarding plus US$ 1,800 Student Health Insurance (required).

Winter Sports Begin November 21
Winter sports sign ups are now posted in the English Wing. Students can still sign up to join one of our winter sports offerings: basketball, cheer, swim, wrestling, or indoor track. As students sign up, the athletics department is checking to see that their sports permission and physical are up to date.
